I immediately said to Jack, "Take my plate and don't move."
This trio of Baltimore Orioles were originally
attracked to my Hummingbird feeder.
Before sitting down to eat, I quickly cut apart some oranges
and placed some on both of our decks.
For the next couple of weeks I could see them
eating out of two different windows.
In previous years I was lucky if I saw them on two days.
Such beautiful birds!
However, some of my local birds and some visitors
were not at all impressed.
Taking turns didn't
seem to be in the
Oriole's vocabulary.
Even a few harsh words didn't help.
Finally the Rose-Breasted Grosebeak got a little creative.
And they ended the day as Friends!
Hope the Orioles come back next year...and bring their wives along.

Very nice series of photos! Those Orioles are in my yard right now too! They're so beautiful.
The orioles are so gorgeous.I have several still hanging around.I do wish they would nest on my yard.
These are wonderful! I've never seen an oriole....so frustrating. I've put out oranges, but other birds don't seem to eat them. Love the photos of the other birds trying to get their share.
Wow, fabulous! We don't have Baltimore orioles migrating thru the Black Hills, but we do have the Bullock's oriole which I've managed very few blurry shots of; not at my house, in an orchard-type setting near farms. We don't have the RB grosbeaks either, would love to see both some day.
Such a wonderful set of photos! Love those orioles and so sweet of you to get them some oranges! mine have been eating the grape jelly like crazy.
I really enjoyed this post Janice, great shots! Orioles are so pretty, I've only seen one ever. Maybe I should put some oranges on our deck and see what I can get!
WOW! Baltimore Orioles have such vibrant colours... I hope they come back to visit you next year too!
I have really enjoyed visiting your blogspot today. You have filled my heart with love and sunshine!
