It's Time to Build my Nest

In the branches of an old lilac bush that once belonged to my grandmother
hangs a little wrenhouse.  Every year some wren family builds a nest in it.

A couple of mornings ago I heard a very familiar song.

And there she was singing her heart out on some of the old bare branches.
However, there was much work to be done.

Just how can she get this big stick into that little hole?

She finally got it in

So now she can sit and sing for Joy!

Good Morning Janice, What a treasure your lilac bush is and what tremendous shots of the wren you captured. This is a beautiful way to start my day. Enjoy the birdsong!

Those house wrens are such a hoot to watch as they put sticks in their houses. I've got one filling a gourd, but can't decide if it really lives there or just is filling it up. They sure sing beautifully. I'm glad you have this type of comment form. I can do these without any trouble.
