American Tree Sparrow

It is a cold, blustery and snowy day today.
I was surprised when I saw
something different outside my window.

At first I thought it might be a
Chipping Sparrow;
however, my bird book indicates
because of the spot in the middle of it's chest,
it is an American Tree Sparrow.

Apparently they like to visit Indiana
in the Winter.

Hi Janice, Oh, this is a beautiful bird. What sharp, clear images. We started out at 22 degrees but it warmed up to about 50 and the sun is shining.
Wishing you a very nice evening.

Beautiful little bird. I've never seen one.. Someone recently (on a blog) started sharing all of the different Sparrow photos... I had no idea there were so many different Sparrows... Wow!!!!!

Congrats on your 'new' bird...He's a Cutie.

It must be a welcome to change to see such beautiful creatures amidst the cold weather to visit your place. And this is such a great capture for you to identify even the spot on its back!

I hope you are keeping yourself warm all the time, God bless! :)
