One evening an over-hanging branch near our house was literally bouncing up and down with them and their conversations with each other were quite loud. It appeared the parents were teaching the babies how to fly to one of the larger feeders in our yard. They would fly in one at a time--sometimes not quite being able to land--and then come back to try again. After they had successfully made the flight from the tree branch, it appeared they were doing the same thing from an old lilac bush in our backyard.
I had bought a couple of feeders for photo opps on our kitchen deck. It was fun to watch these guys first land, and then check out the little fake birds sitting on the outstretched hand holding bird seed.
Do you mind if I join you?
I guess these guys are okay!
I've never seen her before!
She even lets me sit on her head.
To make things more intersting,
I placed the new feeders in with some of my flowers.
The Titmouse started flying in and out with ease.
And once again, before taking that first bite,
they needed to check out who they would be eating with.
HOWEVER, there was a lot of noise coming from the deck railing.
It sounded kind of like "Trivit, Trivit, Trivit!"
And, kept getting louder and louder!!!
It sounded kind of like "Trivit, Trivit, Trivit!"
And, kept getting louder and louder!!!
This little guy apparently had not practiced his "touch and goes"
and for the life of him could not fly down and land like everyone else.
"Maybe I'll try it one more time!"
"HERE I COME!"

Precious, Janice!!!! I love our Tufted Titmice. We have lots of them also. They are such cute birds. Yours look like they are 'talking' to the fake birds and little girl sitting there. Wonder what they were thinking?????
Your set-up for birds is GREAT.
Hugs,
Betsy
I LOVED this entry, it was so adorable and interesting, I wish I could've been there to see it all. There aren't any titmouse where I live :( I have to travel further south to see them.
Thanks so much for sharing!
What a delightful and entertaining post...I love all the staging you did for your photo opts!! Those little bird feeders are really cute!! Your capture of the birds couldn't have been better...I love when you get one looking right at you as if to say...and you fill in the blanks!!
Perfect commentary for a wonderful series of photos!!
I always fall hard for those little underdogs...hope he made it to the feeder..he sure looked like he was a happy camper in your pics! lol
Oh my gosh....just adorable. I love Tufted Titmice. You have some fabulous captures here...
Oh how absolutely darling...and I loved the little guy on the railing trying to get down to the seeds. They really do look at the fake birds and people in the set ups to see if it is safe.... and the post below with the raccoons is another darling post!!Aren't they the cutest little things? Your commentary was great!
This was a delightful post, Janice! I love these little birds, but we don't have nearly as many as you do. I think placing your feeders among your flowers was an excellent idea. Not only does it make for lovely photographs, but the birds probably feel a bit safer with the plant cover, too.
Thanks for you comment yesterday.
You captured so many wonderful and entertaining photos of this Titmouse! Some of them made me laugh out loud! :-)
The Tufted Titmouse is one of my husband's favorite birds. He would have loved to been sitting right there.
Nice to see that bird when its mouth is open...lol....Thanks for sharing..
