spends a very busy day going
from feeder to flowers constantly
looking for nectar.
Her feathers usually look
so sleek and almost scale-like.
Today, she just sat herself down on a nearby post for a little rest.
She seemed to enjoy fluffing herself out.
After she was rested, off she went again in search of more nectar.

Oh how cute, Janice. I finally have some hummers here ---but haven't gotten any photos yet.
Wonder if the Hummer was puffing up showing off or prettying herself up to attract a mate. I know that some female birds do this when they want to get the attention of a possible mate.

she's very cute all fluffed up! I love watching hummers!
Too precious, she looks so soft! I miss my mom's hummingbirds, she had a male and a female that would come to her feeders all day everyday. Sometimes they were fighting over the feeder, they were loud for such small birds! But my parents moved. I hope the new residents are feeding them :)

What fantastic photos these are..one very seldom gets to see a hummer up close..and your photos are great!! Maybe she was exhausted from taking treats to the kids all day...I've seen so many parents pull off the road, so to speak, and just rest in the shade...gotta be a tough job having all those youngsters yelling your name all day long..
I love humming bird..its so cue..Great to shot this one..keep going..
