More Snow!!!!

We awoke this morning to more blowing and drifting snow.  When I went out to fill the feeders all was still except for the chirping of one bird.  Within a minute the little guys and gals were swooping in from all directions.

These Finch were among the first to arrive.  It must have been a long cold night for them.

Then the sweetest thing happaned....

Feeder Frustrations

Snow or Not -- Where's the Food?

What a face....Maybe the food wasn't fresh enough!

Wow!  Look at that Beak!  Oh!  I guess it is a sunflower seed.

Hey Lady,  the squirrels ate all our food again!

Those green things really don't taste that good!

I'm getting really tired of waiting on those two guys to give me a turn.  I've been hanging on here at least a half hour...Why do guys think they need to go first?  The next time they chase me off I'm going to tell them just what I think!

All Things Bright and Beautiful

All things bright and beautiful,
all creatures great and small,
all things wise and wonderful:
the Lord God made them all.

God gave us eyes to see them,
and lips that we might tell
how great is God Almighty,
who has made all things well.

God Bless You and Be With You
as You Gather with Those You Love
during this Time of Thanksgiving.

Rocky Mountain National Park

We have visited Rocky Mountain National Park many times in the past, and have taken numerous hikes back to lakes, etc.  This trip through we decided to hike back to Alberta Falls.  This is how the mountains looked as we were leaving the parking lot.

There were numerous little falls all along the trail.

At one point everyone stopped to watch this grouse.

Finally Alberta Falls came into view.

We continued our drive through the park
and stopped at many of the lookouts along the way.

This little guy was sitting there ready to give directions
to anyone who would stop by.

Posing seemed to come second nature to him.

The picture below is of one of my most favorite outlooks in the entire park.
I have always enjoyed seeing the beautiful lake twinkling in the sunlight way up in the tundra.  When I blew up my picture this time, I was amazed to see at least four lakes.

Even where we stopped to eat, there was interesting things to see outside the window.  This little marmot was a very busy little fellow.

Way down in the valley below us, I saw some spots moving and discovered there was a herd of Elk having their lunch and resting.

One last view from the tundra and the we were ready to leave the park and head west.
