One Year Later -- New Head Gear

Last year in September.
I posted a blog about three young deer
that visited our yard in the afternoons.

Well, they are back.
While last year all we saw were the spots on their backs,
we now know, there are two bucks and one doe.

The doe poses beautifully, as she did a year ago,
and has such a sweet face and large beautiful ears.
(The two guys seem to have made her their "lookout.")

The lighting was not the greatest yesterday,
so none of my pictures of the two bucks
turned out very well.
But here are a couple of pictures of each one
with their lovely sister
showing off their new head gear.

Wishing you a beautiful day
filled with good surprises!

Feed Me! Feed Me! Feed Me!

Such a commotion!
Loud, noisy screeching!

This youngster wanted to be fed.

"Hey, Mom and Dad--I'm Here."

"Aren't you ever going to feed me?"

"Oh, that was good."

"How about another bite?"

"Son, we need to talk.  You can do this for yourself."

"Mom--Dad, where did you go?"

"Well, here goes--I think I can."

"I did it!  I did it!  It tastes so good."

"Mom, Dad, did you see what I just did??"

Happy Mother's Day

Do you know what day this is?

Are these flowers really for me?

And you got me a hat
and some special
Sunflower "candy."

I knew the "candy"
was for Him too!

Hope your Mother's Day
was as great as mine!

A Flash of Blue

I saw something blue
just out of the corner of my eye
and immediately thought,
"That's much too small for a Bluejay."

If I am lucky,
each Spring I see some or one
Indigo Bunting.

They rarely stick around
more than a day or two.

So I took pictures as quickly as I could.

Until he finally said,
"Enough, Lady!
Can't you see I'm trying to eat?"

Just Call Me "Handsome"

The Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks just arrived this weekend.

They usually spend a couple of weeks vacation
at my house every Spring.

Just call me "Beautiful"

This is his lovely mate.

They both didn't seem to mind my presence,
and patiently waited in a nearby tree this morning
as I filled the bird feeders.

They also willingly posed for a few more pictures.

 How about a back view.

 Oh, Oh, What's this?

Someone else checking out the feeders,
and in broad daylight.
No slinking in after dark.
This raccoon even washed his paws
in the birds water dish.

Just call me "TROUBLE"

Hope you have a Happy Day!
