Earlier this year
I was overjoyed with the prospect
of having a Bluebird family
nesting on our property.
As some of you may know,
the nest box was raided,
probably by raccoons.
Although I have continued to
to see a Bluebird occasionally,
I do not know where they are nesting.
HOWEVER,
we have been blessed
with an abundance of RED birds.
The Cardinals and the House Finch
seem to be raising some pretty
big families this summer.
As soon as the sun peeks
through in the morning,
they are checking the feeders.
Their bright, red feathers
glisten in the sun.
Cardinals, must have really good eyesight,
because they seem to notice me
on the inside of the window
and quickly fly off.
But this is certainly one, handsome guy!
The Finch and Cardinals often eat in large groups,
and I have enjoyed watching the young ones
begging their parents
to put that seed in their mouths
when all they need to do is bend over
and pick it up.
Breakfast is served,
so dig in!
God bless your day!

I find it fascinating to watch the seemingly full grown young beg for food.Seeing these pictures reminds me that I need to fill my feeders.
Lovely pictures. These beauties bring a smile to my face!
I'm sorry your nestbox was raided. :( Hopefully, they will try again. Ours were unsuccessful the first year, and this year, they had two successful nests. In fact, I saw the mom sitting on top of the nest box today which surprised me. I thought they flew south.
Your red birds are so cheerful-looking!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I do miss blogging, but these days, I don't take very many photos for myself. When I do, most are on my phone, and I do a quick post to Instagram instead.
Hope all is well in your corner of the world!
Good Morning, Janice. I have lost your email address, so I am hoping you see this.....Wishing you and yours a blessed Thanksgiving. Love, Mildred
