Over this past summer I have been trying to get some Hummingbird pictures. With all the heat this summer, they have been frequent visitors.
Here's a sweet young lady,
and here is a handsome gentlemen.
They are both Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds.
I have noticed a couple of different types of tail colorings.
I'm not sure if this has to do with gender or maturity;
however, I think these are both females.

"Hey, who do you think you are
trying to look like a Hummingbird?"
He almost had the wing fluttering just right,

These are great shots. I do wonder if the Hummer with the plain tail is an immature male,as the males do not have the little white corners on the tail.
What sweet photos you have shared with us. I've never seen the Downy woodpecker on the hummingbird feeder! It must have been a real treat for him!
Beautiful photos! I haven't gotten any good hummingbird shots this year. I've never seen a Downy on a hummer feeder! Wow! He seems to be finding satisfaction. How funny.
You live in such a beautiful place surrounded with God's gifts... I wish we had the same environment too, away from the polluted metro and congested roads.
I'm glad to see a post in your blog once again Ms Janice. Have a great week ahead! :)
Ms Janice may I have your email address please?
