My Little House Wren
returned this Spring.
Every year one comes back
to live in this little house in an old lilac bush.
The nest is built
and he or she is singing
loud and long throughout the day.
We had some friends visit recently,
and one woman said, "Where is that bird?
It sounds like it is in your kitchen."
Last year they were checking out this house
...a little more upscale.
But when the final decision was made,
it was the little old cottage that was the winner.
After the nest was made,
Momma checked to see if it felt just right.
While Dad sat outside,
waiting for the "big event."

This is such a cute post, I love that little 'cottage', heehee. You're so lucky to have birds nest in your yard, I can't wait to have my own house someday :)
Hi Janice, Glad your little wrens are BACK.... I'm kinda sorry now that I got rid of the old, ratty, falling-apart nestbox which my Bluebirds had used for years and years. I got a new one for them --and guess what??? They don't like it. The new nestbox is empty... Sigh!
The wrens do have a LOUD and beautiful singing voice. Our Carolina Wren has a gorgeous song. They do sound like they are INSIDE the house. ha
Hope you have great day.
Hugs,
Betsy
How sweet!!! Loved that they chose the cottage - it must be the fine memories that they've made there! :-)
Beautiful pictures and story of the little Wren. The cottage sounds real cosy.
I absolutely loved this post. We also have a little House Wren that sings at the top of his lungs through spring and early summer. He makes me so happy. Sounds like he does the same for you! Can't wait to see the babes!
