Another interesting part of the Missouri Botanical Gardens was the Bird Garden. This is an area dedicated to attracting birds and butterflies which includes many vibrantly colored flowers.
This is the entrance
This was the only bird other than a hummingbird that I saw while walking through the garden. You really need to look closely to see him because he blends in so well with his surroundings.
The colors were so vivid and beautiful.
Some really tall sunflowers.

Well Janice, even if it was a 'birdless' garden, it surely was pretty!!!!! As you said, the birds were hiding!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
...beautiful flowers even if you only saw a few birds there. It's nice that they've planted flowers for the birds. I bet as they ripen the goldfinch will be all over those zinnias!
I love walking through gardens that others have painstakingly put together...it always inspires me to go home and try harder...
even tho the birds were hiding, which they are doing everywhere these days, you did a wonderful job of capturing the color and flavor of these gardens.. it sure looks like you had a wonderful day to roam and enjoy the weather and family.
Your pictures remind me of the many gardens I have visited with beautiful flowers and grounds. I love the last picture the best! August-Sept. seem to be the worst month for spotting birds.
