Good Friday

Good Friday
2019

During this Lenten Season,
the words to this hymn
keep running through my mind.

How Deep the Father's Love for Us
by
Stuart Townend

How deep the Father's love for us,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son,
To make a wretch a treasure.

How great the pain of searing loss,
The Father turns his face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One,
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders.
Ashamed I hear my mocking voice,
Call out among the scoffers.

It was my sin that held Him there,
Until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life,
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts no power no wisdom,
But this I know with all my heart,
His wounds have paid my ransom.

Indiana Winter - A Little Bit of Everything

From Frigid to Frozen

Several days ago
we were experiencing
wind chills of down to -40
with snow.

Today we might be called
the Frozen Chosen.

Fortunately, it is melting.
But, did I mention
there is snow and high winds on the way
tonight!

Some might say,
"Our weather is for the birds!"
but
I'm sure the birds would say,
"We've had enough!"

A Fawn in the Fall

Hunting season is here
and I have seen this little fawn
a couple of times now
all by itself.

 Looking for food,

Sniffing for "man in the forest."

Looking for a place to lay down.

Time for a nap.
It snuggled up in a big pile of leaves.
It was really hard to see.

 It keeps one eye open
--just in case--

It heard my husband go outside
and jumped up.

It's a long way down into Cedar Canyon.

But it decides it has to go.

Hope it comes back!
It is so precious and little to be on its own.

Morning has Broken

The Fall Colors in Cedar Canyon
are finally shining forth!

Our Fall colors seem to be
a couple of weeks later than usual.

But the Biggest Blessing of All
was to see this Pretty Doe
watching me.

After what has seemed like
many drab, cloudy, rainy and chilly days,
this morning was a treasure.

Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow,
Praise Him All Creatures here Below,

Praise Him Above Ye Heavenly Hosts,
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
Amen
