It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas

We finally had our first snowfall.
Not too much....Just right.

Our cats have been very involved
with our preperations for Christmas.

Fraidy Cat helped get out the decorations.

Ezra thinks he "owns" the Christmas Tree.
In fact, he's been doing a little re-decorating at nights.

And Nehemiah, what can I say,
"Oh come, Let us Adore Him."

However, sometimes there is a little disagreement
over who should be doing the "adoring."

Nehemiah and Ezra
finally settled in for their "long winter's nap."

Watching for Santa, together..
or was that bird watching?

Maroon Bells - After 50 Years

We discovered Maroon Bells,
near Aspen Colorado,
when we were on our honeymoon.

Fifty years later,
Maroon Bells look just as great as ever.
We were just happy to be back again.

50th Wedding Anniversary

On April 21, Fifty Years Ago

    this Young Man

   asked this Young Woman

if she would spend the rest of her life with him.

Obviously, she said, "Yes."

October 6, 1962

(Her precious mother made her wedding dress
from a picture in a bridal magazine.)

They spent their honeymoon in Colorado,
and through the years returned to share the beauty of that place
with their children.

They were there for their 48th Anniversary
and hope to make a new memory
for their 50th.

Are You Thirsty Too?

Over this past summer I have been trying to get some Hummingbird pictures. With all the heat this summer, they have been frequent visitors.

Here's a sweet young lady,

and here is a handsome gentlemen.
They are both Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds.

I have noticed a couple of different types of tail colorings.
I'm not sure if this has to do with gender or maturity;
however, I think these are both females.

"Hey, who do you think you are
trying to look like a Hummingbird?"

He almost had the wing fluttering just right,

but hanging on to drink was a little more difficult.
Apparently it tasted really good
on those hot, hot summer days,
because he returned regularly.

One last picture of a little sweetheart
resting on a tree branch in the sunshine.

Here's wishing you all a Happy Day!

The "Deerest" of Them All

Last week during the really hot weather,
my husband called me to come quickly and bring my camera.
There were two baby deer standing a short ways from our barn.

There was no mamma in sight and
they seemed to be trying to decide where to go.

"Maybe there is something good to eat around here."
"Those hostas we had over there were pretty good."

"Did you hear something?"

Look at the size of those ears..
And I like the way the two siblings are posing exactly alike.

Soon they headed towards the road.
Mama must have taught them to aways look both ways
and sniff the wind in case "man is in the forest."

I had to look twice at this picture.
It looked like a deer with two bodies and one head.

At last the leader of the two
decided it was okay for them to walk down the side of the road.
