Yellow Throated Warbler

This is the second year this little fellow has briefly
visited my yard.

He doesn't stand still for long.

His song has often alerted me that there is a different bird outside.

As I looked at my pictures from last year, it appeared that his body was slimmer and longer,

or is it just my imagination? Maybe just a colder day this year and he had his feathers fluffed out.

A beautiful bird to watch and listen to. I hope he comes back.

Cat Bird or Cat Burglar ???

A Stranger Came for Dinner

This Tastes "Heavenly"

Maybe I'll just lay here and let breakfast come to me.

Baltimore Oriole - A First Time Visitor

April finally arrived and so did the birds. Some were just passing through--Some planned to stay a while. In the last three years since I have been seriously trying to attract birds to my backyard, this is the first time I have seen a Baltimore Oriole. He did not stay for more than a week or so, but I was so amazed to see this brilliant flash of color land on my deck.

He sure did love that orange flavored suet.

Zoe's Baptism & Owens' 3rd Birthday

After spending three weeks in St. Louis after Zoe's birth and enjoying the somewhat spring-like weather they enjoy while we are freezing up north, we did indeed return to Indiana Winter.
But early in March we headed south again for two important events--

We headed back to Indiana once again,
hoping--just hoping that maybe Spring was on its way.

Just a Little Catching Up - New Arrivals Jan. 2009

This has been a very busy year so far, so I guess the best place to start is at the beginning.

An old friend from last summer stopped by for a while.

The "Best Arrival of All" came near the end of the month--A New Granddaughter!
We spent three weeks in Saint Louis following her birth.

Here is baby Zoe when she came home from the hospital.

This is big brother, Owen, holding his new sister for the first time.

And here is the whole happy family.

Grandpa and I did get to do some neat things with Owen while we were there--like visiting some of the neat playgrounds nearby.

We also were able to hold Zoe once in a while.
